Martin, thank you for that fantastic and simple suggestion of how to auto start a VM!
I use TweakUI to automatically log a user in as well.

If you want to auto start a guest image, perform the following steps...

1) VMware Guest Machine > Settings > Options > Power
Check the box, "Power on after opening this virtual machine"

2)Right-click on the Guest .VMX file and make sure VMware Workstation is the default application associated with .VMX file type.

3) Add the .VMX file (as a shortcut) to the Windows Start-up Program group. (If you have VMware WS set to run the guest image "headless", you can set the Short-cut in Start up to Run: Minimized)

Is Workstation 6 fully 64-bit capable? I've tried it on Gentoo and Ubuntu 64-bit, and both times it requires extra 32-bit compatability junk.

I assume the new VMware Player uses the same virtualization engine as the new Workstation?

I'm interested in running MS-DOG in it (lol). Any new features for DOS in 6? (VESA, soundcards, able to use QEMM, etc.)

Mike Street: I don't believe we've seen this problem. What do you mean by scroll bars? Do you have auto-fit guest or auto-fit window turned on? And what do you mean by not picking the correct kernel? If we have detailed information on the problem, we can fix it. It would be nice to get a bug report.

pacho: 3D support is available, but still experimental, so it must be enabled in the vmx file. Check the manual for more info.

Tsiolkovsky: Not that I'm aware of, sorry.
